Newly Launched Assessment Program Aims to Recast Testing
Foundation: Gates Foundation, Hewlett Foundation
Together a network of people including but not limited to educators and tech advocates have worked to design a project to help with assessment testing in children. With approximately 12 grants given out to various schools. The project is hoping to refocus the efforts of assessment testing into personalized learning.
Going beyond the old methods of standardized testing will give greater awareness and insight into how each student is learning on a more individualized scale. Through this method each student will be able to feel in control of the test they are doing or working in a lab rather than mandated testing which tends to create lower scores. Over all having a better understanding and way of assessing the success of each student.
